On arrival to The Barclay Guest House, please take the time to read the information pack in your room.
Our policies are as follows:-
Cancellation Policy:-
Payment is due 14 days prior to arrival. You may cancel at anytime up to then without penalty.
If you cancel less than 14 days prior to your booking you will be charged the full amount. We highly recommend taking out Travel Insurance to avoid any loss due to a cancellation as a result of unforeseen circumstances.
If we cancel your booking due to unforeseen circumstances or reasons beyond our control then we will refund the total cost of your reservation to you. No further claim beyond the refund will be considered.
General Policy:-
Please read the information pack in your room, this will give you invaluable information with regards to the guest house, policies and procedures.
The minimum stay is 2 nights.
We serve breakfast in the dining room between 8:00am and 9:00am.
We service our rooms between 10.00am.- 1:00pm.
Maximum occupancy for each room must not exceed the number of guests on the original booking.
Only registered guests may enter the property by themselves and be allocated keys. If you wish to bring outside guests into the guest house to visit during the day, you must let us know as per fire regulations.
There are fire extinguishers on every floor and smoke detectors in every room. In the event of a fire please refer to the fire procedures on the back of the door in your room and in the information pack.
Barclay Guest House operates a strict no-smoking and no vaping policy. It is against the law to smoke inside the premises. If you do smoke/vape inside the premises you will be asked to leave immediately with no refund and a cleaning fee of £50 will be charged. Smoking is permitted outside, please place cigarette ends in the ashtray provided.
If any guests show anti-social behaviour or behaviour that is a nuisance to the other guests, owners or employees of the Barclay Guest House then they and their accompanying party will be asked to leave the premises immediately. No refund for the reserved stay will be paid to the guest in this instance.
Children need to be supervised by an adult at all times whilst staying at the Barclay Guest house. The parent and/or guardian are solely responsible for the safety of children in their charge and Barclay Guest house cannot accept any responsibility for any injury to the children when under the parent/guardian care.
The family rooms are suitable for 2 children 15 years or under travelling with parents/guardians. Young adults (16years and older) will incur extra charges to stay in the room.
We do not currently welcome pets but do allow service or guide dogs by special arrangement. Please call before booking to discuss this.
We do not accept any liability for any damage, loss or injury to any guest or member of the accompanying party. We do not accept any liability for any damage to vehicles, any parking tickets or loss of possessions from the vehicle for any guest or a member of the accompanying party.
Please ensure that Children are supervised around the breakfast area and any other area around the guest house. Any injury caused items at breakfast to unsupervised children will not be covered by our liability.
Green Policy :-
At The Barclay, we are committed to environmentally friendly practises and believe that if everyone contributes just a little bit, a big difference can be made.
We have solar panels fixed to the roof to provide you with hot showers and electricity sustainably with a minimal use of fossil fuels.
We re-cycle, use LED or low energy bulbs where appropriate and are reducing the use of single use plastic at the guest house by using refillable amenity dispensers and using less one size serve plastic items at breakfast. We also serve fair trade tea and coffee.
If you would like to do your bit then please re-use your towels if you can and only place them in the shower or on the floor if you want them changed.
